This period was a time when China became ruled by the Mongol Empire. The Yuan Dynasty lasted from 1279 to 1368. They created the magnetic compass during this time as well as many other inventions still intact today. An attack was launched and soon the capital of Yuan was captured, leading to the corruption of the Yuan Dynasty.
