Eva Peròn's death marked the beginning of Peròn's fall from power. Starting beforehand with Eva being named vice president, Peròn was losing support due to Eva's lowly status in the connection to the working class. It was a concern amongst elites for her role in the politics of Argentina. Eva was a campaigner for poor Argentinians. Peròn was not able to assume this role after she died. The government grew distanced from ordinary people. In relation to the theme of success and failures, Peron not reconnecting is a disappointing failure because Eva's death marked a period of discontent with Peron's regime. Furthermore, the support lost would play a role in his eventual undoing.
