-Mao Zedong wants peasants on his side So that he can have them work on the farms so that they could make money.
-He also wants youths on his side Because they are younger they can work longer and he can make more money.
-He is against landowners Because they would make that more money and he would want the money for himself and the government.
-He is against intellectuals because he doesn’t want them to be “smarter” than him.
