In 1998, Wilber “Bullet” Rogan was inducted in the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Bullet Rogan was born July 28, 1893 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Wilber, his brother Willard and his father, Richard, moved to Kansas City, Kansas. He attended Sumner High School.

Wilbur “Bullet” Rogan was one of the greatest players in the history of the Negro Leagues, a multifaceted star, who was one of the greatest pitchers of all times. When he wasn’t pitching, he played in the outfield and was the “clean-up hitter.”

Rogan played with the Kansas City Monarchs and helped them win three consecutive league championships (1923-25) and a Negro League World Series title in 1924. He was a manager of the Kansas City Monarchs and worked as an umpire in the Negro American League. He died in Kansas City in 1964. ( Wilber “Bullet” Rogan and the Kansas City Monarchs- Phil S.
