IRAN:-Iran would sent larger numbers of volunteer soldiers into the desert to shoot the Iraqi soldiers. They essentially ended up volunteering to be martyrs for their religion.
IRAQ:
-Fired missiles at Iranian cities, killing large numbers of innocent civilians in the "War of the Cities".
