The WotP was the result of Chile’s border claims of coastal Bolivian territory of the Atacama Desert. Bolivia allied with Peru against Chile, which Chile won. Chile gained a significant resource-rich territory from Peru and Bolivia, and Chile’s army took Bolivia’s nitrate rich coastal region.
