Days after her encounter with Widowmaker, Ana wakes up in Poland with temporary amnesia, unable to remember who she is or how she was injured. After the incident, her cybernetic eye was destroyed, making her wear an eyepatch from now on.

She is treated under the Polish generic 'Janina Kowalski' by Dr. Lee, and she requests to retain her anonymity as her memories return. Lee obliges, and Ana is kept out of the system, which helps ensure that Overwatch fail to find her.
