In this doctrine, Truman urged the people of America to aid free people who were resisting subjugation by armed or outside forces. He also asked Congress for the funds to aid Greece and Turkey. Congress approved the doctorine , giving Greece 300 million and Turkey 100 Million. This aided countries resisting Soviet control.
