"Here, the most obvious irony is between text and image, for this scene of injustice is titled with a well-worn slogan of patriot rhetoric, 'the liberty of the subject.' On this level, the irony seems to be 'classical irony,' which, as defined by Quintilian, is simply saying the opposite of what we mean."
