- A month into the outbreak, Jack and Krista Prescott seek refuge at the LaRouche house after hearing Sarah's broadcasts. Sarah knows them too as they owned a dental practice not far from her home.
- She goes to let them in but Sebastian blocks the door, believing they could be dangerous. Jack was wounded by marauders so Sarah demands the couple are let in. Sebastian obliges.
- Krista explains their story. They were with a group lead by a strong woman. They were on a small scouting mission, looking for a stash of supplies the national guard had bought over to help with the floods when they were attacked by the marauders. They were the only two survivors from the group.
- Later that night Sarah broadcasts again, explaining the day's events. Sebastian knocks on her room and informs her that Jack has died from his injuries. Angered, Sarah tells any listeners that there is no hope left.
