Hank Aaron made his MLB debut with the Milwaukee Braves on April 13, 1954. He was the next person to hold a home run record, and the first black man to hold this record, as the previous home run record was 714, held by Babe Ruth, for 39 years. Hank Aaron broke this record with his 715th career home run.
