This process begins between 9-12 weeks. The Mullerian ducts and Wolffian ducts develop into male and female sexual organs respectively. Bipotential gonads are connected to either of these through a central cavity (cloaca). During fetal development, the Mullerian ducts degenerate, and the Wolffian ducts become the uterine tubes and the uterus.
