The Diet of Worms was an assembly held between Martin Luther, newly crowned Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, and the Diet of Germany. The assembly was held in Worms, a city in a berg in Germany. Charles V planned to shut down Luther's beliefs and teachings, but Luther remained defiant and showed his evidence in the Bible to Charles V and the Diet of Germany. Luther ran circles around Charles V, and Charles V tried to kill Luther so Luther fled to a berg in Germany with a Lutheran prince where he lived the rest of his days in a church.
