This was the year the Sex Pistols gained their well known bassist Sid (real name: John Simon Ritchie) after Glen Matlock's departure. Sid gave the Pistol's their most influential look. In the words of Malcolm McLaren "Johnny Rotten (lead singer) was the voice of punk, and Vicious was the attitude."
