Results from NCI's Tamoxifen and Raloxifene study show that postmenopausal women at increased risk of breast cancer may reduce their risk of developing the disease if they take raloxifene as an antiestrogen medication. The risk of serious side effects of raloxifene is lower than that of tamoxifen.
