For postmenopausal women, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommends anastrozole for the treatment of advanced breast cancer with an estrogen receptor positive. Anastrozole is the first aromatase inhibitor to be approved for cancer therapy (a drug that inhibits the development of estrogen in the body).
