Robert Montauk dies 7 years into his life sentence at Wakefield Prison, after being stabbed 47 times. No culprit or weapon was found, and he was locked alone in his cell; however, the lightbulb supposedly blew out at the exact moment of his death (MAG 9). Date described by Jonathan Sims in the post-statement follow-up as Nov 1, 2002, however I believe this was a verbal typo. Julia Montauk gave her statement on Dec 3, 2002, and stated that she felt free to make a statement because her father died in prison last year, which would put his death in 2001 (MAG 9). It wouldn't make sense for her to estimate it had happened a year prior if it had only happened a month ago. Therefore, I have listed the date at November 1, 2001.
