Germany refused to stop their attack so Britain and Germany were now at war. The assassination of Archduke Franz lead to war not only in Europe but in other continents such as Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and North and South America. Many people thought the war would only last a couple of months but they did not expect it to last for 4 years .
