The escape and departure of the Hebrew slaves is known as the Exodus. When they reached freedom in the Promise Land of Mount Sinai, God appeared to Moses once again to share with the Ten Commandments. The commandments were put in place to give the Israelites law and live as peaceful, faithful and honourable people.
