President Bush signed a proclamation granting China normal trade status.This proclamation removed China to have to adhere to the 1974 Jackson- Vanik Amendment to the Trade Act of 1974
The importance of this event to the decade is that it was the final step to normalizing the relationship trade between the US and China.
