1 янв 1807 г. - 1807 - Congress voted to end the international slave trade, a form of forced immigration that had seen many African-Americans come to the United States. Their journeys often resulted in death, and their lives upon arriving in the United States nearly always saw forced servitude for the entirety of their lives. Though Congress did not end the domestic slave trade, it did prevent the legal bringing of new slaves into the United States.
