During world war II, the chinese Nationalist and chinese communists has agreed to temporarily stop their civil war and face the japanese the real threat. The japanese army occupied Manchuria and created a puppert emperor. The Japanese won victory after victory and moved inward China claiming all major ports. One day the raping of nanjing killed upwards of 57,000 chinese. Because CHina was not modernized, it was hard for the Japanese army to get inward into China. The Japanese never surrenedered. The chinese united themselves with foreign emengy. By doing this they were able to drive the Japanese out.
