"t was clear that the entire night wasn't going to go Microsoft's way when Peter Moore brought out the guitar and joined some of the developers from Harmonix for a round of Rock Band early on in the show. Not only did he fail and get booted out of the band, only to be saved by his teammates' performance, but he accidentally paused the game twice during the demo. "

"Microsoft's usual trump card, Halo, actually turned out to be one of the biggest downers. They kicked things off by showing a live action pseudo-trailer directed by the man who was supposed to helm the Halo film, Neill Blomkamp. It was a cool piece, don't get me wrong, but it just felt like Microsoft was trying to sell the Halo movie to any studio representative that might have been in attendance."

"Next came the announcement of a new Xbox 360 console, that's right, another one. The Special Edition Halo 3 system comes with groovy green paint and some Halo-esque etchings on it, but no other details were let loose. Will it have an even bigger hard drive, built-in wireless, or maybe a pack-in HD-DVD drive? We have no idea, but the crowd was less than enthralled.
