Communal clashes between religious groups hastened the creation of Pakistan. The British Parliament passed the famous Indian Independence Act 1947, and on August 14, Pakistan was declared a free nation. After their Independence, Gandhi focused on peace and unity among the Hindus and Muslims. The image attached is a photo of the signing of the Indian Independence Act.
