For trading, brass weights would have been weighed against gold on a scale. These figures depict activities and imagery of daily life of Ashanti.
This imagery also supports the idea that you let art speak for you, often speaking in proverbs.
British called this area “The Gold Coast” and they were ALWAYS interested in this region. They eventually destroyed the Ashanti capital in 1874. They really wanted the Golden Stool.
