Khrushchev became the first Soviet leader to visit the USA to hold formal and informal talks with white house officials. The theme is peaceful coexistence and the talks were of compromise during this lull in the cold war and the two sides were on good terms.
Eisenhower set up a visit to the USSR for 1960 in order for talks to continue.
