I think that this is a very important time in Greek history because I shows how Athens and Sparta collaborated to try and defeat a common enemy. The Athenians were swamped with Persians because the Persians had been given information by a Greek farmer how to get around the back of the Greeks. But, the Spartans fought back against the Persians, and were able to hold them off long enough for a lot of Athenians to escape.
