The Lamanites now came out with an army that was so massive that the people did not have a sufficient number system to accurately count them. They marched against Desolation. There was an exceedingly sore battle in which thousands were slain. The Nephites were driven out and fled to the city of Boaz.
The city of Desolation would never again be retaken by the Nephites.
