In 1914, Russia entered World War 1, they fought against Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire (the central powers). The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand started the beginning of World War 1. Russia’s military was no match for their rival. Russia eventually lost World War I.
