Three young hemophiliac brothers - Ricky, Randy, and Robert - were denied the opportunity to go to school by Florida's Desoto County School Board after being diagnosed with HIV. The boys contracted HIV after being given contaminated blood used to treat their disorder. After a federal judge ordered the school board to allow the boys to return to school on August 5th, 1987, outraged parents kept their kids from attending class. In an unprecedented turn of events, someone set fire to the Ray family's house on August 28th. The house was destroyed completely, though thankfully no one was injured.
