This was an organized mass demonstration whose purpose was to establish Mussolini and his fascist party as the most prominent political party of Italy. The result did exactly this; Benito Mussolini's National Fascist Party ascent to power in the Kingdom of Italy. It was led by 30,000 fascist armed squads known as Blackshirts who gathered in Rome to demand the resignation of liberal Prime Minister Luigi Facta and the appointment of a new Fascist government.
