NASA think mars was just like earth with life an water a few million years ago but something destroyed Mars. The temperature in mars can go up to -65o Celsius (-85o Fahrenheit) and Earth's average temperature is 15o Celsius (59o Fahrenheit)., It takes Mars about 24 hours 37 minutes to make a complete rotation. However, Mars takes 687 days to make a complete revolution around the sun.
