(This year, Andorra regained independence from the French Empire. Andorra would never see its sovereignty threatened again despite its small size. Modern Andorra has one of the most unique governments in the world; it's a "constitutional elective co-principality". There are two Princes of Andorra, one of whom is the Bishop of Urgell (a nearby Spanish city) and the other of whom is the President of France. The role of the Princes is largely ceremonial.)
