People with weak self - control are likely to commit deviant acts even if their social bond is strong
Lack of self-control is a time stable trait, leading to impulsive, reckless, insensitive behavior
Elements of self control:
Impulsiveness - Inability to delay gratification, preferring quick pleasures and rewards
Simple tasks - Prefers activities that do not require planning or intellectual investment
Physicality - Prefers physical endeavors red over intellectual activities
Self-centeredness - Insensitivity to needs and interests of others and excessive focus on desires for the self
Temper - easily lose their temper
Risk seeking - Excitement of risky behavior will be rewarding, while safe and careful activities will bring boredom
