After the death of Pahoran the question arose as to who should take his place. As this was to be decided by the people they held an election where the various candidates who wanted the office campaigned to gain people to their favor.

This election consisted of three of the sons of Pahoran (though we are told that he had many more sons than just the three). They were as follows:
Pahoran II
Pecumeni
Paanchi

Now, when the election came in the voice of the people came in favor of Pahoran II. When it was clear that this was the people's choice Pecumeni acceded to the people's choice and joined in supporting his brother.

Pahoran seems to have been a righteous man who filled the judgment seat well. But he was judge for less than a year.
