After the success of his first ship, Hagoth sent several more northward. Each ship carried many passengers.
This time they did not arrive safely. The record simply states that they were lost in the west sea, and that the Nephites did not know what had happened to them.

Later that year Hagoth tried sending one more ship, but it was also lost.

While shipping continued between the North and the south, it seems that the idea of large passenger ships was soon abandoned.
