The Cuban missile crisis was a conflict between The Soviet Union and the United States over nuclear weapons the Soviets had placed in Cuba. AN American intelligence operation discovered evidence that The Soviets had missiles just 90 miles from American land, and this created a conflict that lasted 13 days. A major crisis was averted when Soviets agreed to remove missiles from Cuba and the Americans agreed not to invade Cuba.
