Alpha v1.2.0-preview was a special pre-release version of Alpha v1.2.0 that was specially given to PC Gamer and Indiegames as a preview version.

Differences from Alpha v1.2.0:
The Nether
Referred to as the Slip
Zombie Pigman
Has the original blood texture, instead of the slime/decay.
Glowstone
Drops itself instead of a glowstone dust.

Trivia:
On the same day of the release of the preview, Minecraft hit 500,000 sales.
