With fears of another 9/11 attack, President Bush decided to preemptively fight a war on terrorism. The first place Bush decided to fight was Iraq. Bush's administration claimed that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction that they could use against the U.S., there was a connection between Bin Laden and Iraq, and that Hussein had committed human rights crimes against his political enemies.
