Washington’s Farewell Address
After the Constitutional Convention and the executive branch was created Washington became the first President of the United States of America. He retired after two terms and gave a farewell address. In this Farewell address he gives his advice to the American people and her government. He said to maintain a strong federal government. He warned against meddling in foreign affairs. He also warned against creating political parties. After he retires John Adams is elected president.
