Globalization clearly has a major impact on my ability to engage in cultural and religious activities. I usually pray a supplementary, optional prayer before I get to bed every night, and this is almost always done on a prayer mat. These mats are not made in Canada but can be purchased here, since they are imported from countries such as Pakistan. The company which made my specific prayer mat is called Haram Al-Harmain (Arabic name, but I converted to English pronunciation). Thus, I was actually exposed to a new market because I didn't know which specific country my mat came from until I check the tag on the back before creating this timeline.
