For what appeared to be an exercise of a relatively familial form of feminism, the Women's March on Versailles was protesting against the sharp rise in bread prices and food imports. This crowd of protestors was made up primarily of women that worked as mothers and domestic livelihoods, while women in privatized professions were involved less so. How is a woman meant to feed her family if there is nothing to feed them?
