King Philip's War joined a list of uprisings and conflicts between various Indian tribes and the French, Dutch, and English colonial settlements of Canada, New York, and New England.
These include the Powhatan wars of 1610–14, 1622–32, and 1644–46 in VA, the Pequot War of 1637 in CT, the Dutch-Indian war of 1643 along the Hudson River, and the Iroquois Beaver Wars of 1650
