Worst race riots to occur in Los Angeles. For 10 days, American sailors went into Mexican American neighborhoods to search for "zoot-suiters" (fashionably dressed, hip, young, Mexican teens). The military men drug kids out of movie theatres and cafes to viciously beat them.
