On May 13th 2011 the NHL sadly lost Derek Boogaard. Boogaard was an NHL player that started in 2001 with the MInnesota Wild, he was what some people consider an Enforcer or a Goon for short. On May 12th, 2011 Derek and a couple of his friends went out for a “couple” mixed drinks at 4 different bars and then went back to their homes. His brother was making pancakes and assuming that Boogaards friend Ryan was hungover from it all, he went to go pick him up and bring him to his place. When they got back Boogaard Sadly passed in the car. The cause of his death was due to a accidental overdose of alcohol and oxycodone
