John went to get the marriage license so that he and Jessie could be married. He went to get it right after he had burned the car that he murdered Polly in. The salesman finds it weird that jack buys a marriage license ` and when he is asks about Johns Marital status and John hesitantly says Bachelor and when the sales man tries to sell him a ring but his offer is denied witch raises some suspicion.
