I have had my second meeting with my new boss. I failed to perform my assignment correctly. I failed to understand any inner workings of the code. I apologized to my supervisor and explained that I was struggling. She became very condescending saying things like “Do you want me to read it to you” and “Well you’re a GS-11 and we expect you to work on your own” I expressed my concerns regarding my lack of mentorship. My supervisor began to talk over me saying you’re being mentored now and my issues are in the past. I am unaware of how I am getting any mentorship. The issues are not in the past because they are continuing. During my interview I requested mentorship and explained how important it was to me. I was told I would be getting that and so far my requests have been met with condescension. I plan on sending a follow up email to my supervisor to discuss a plan for getting me up to speed. I also will be speaking with the union to discuss my issues.
