The Appalachians, an Eldian colony, rebelled against the Eldians. After the Eldians were expelled from the continent, the native people formed the Appalachian Empire, a constitutional monarchy with a strong legislature and democratic systems that were at the time, unheard of. Afterwards, the Appalachians started being seen as the new beacon of hope for displaced immigrants from around the world.
