Angelina Grimke wrote the pamphlet "An Appeal to the Christian Women of the Southern States" urging women to work for abolition. Though rejected in the South, the pamphlet was well received in the North.

Impact: Helped motivate abolition, and help empower women eventaully to a bigger role.
