Uncle Tom's Cabin was written by Harriet Beecher Stowe, a white woman, on March of 1852.
This novel described the abusive life that many African Americans faced in plantations in the South.
What caused Stowe to write this novel was to reveal to the Northerners about the truth about slavery and the brutality between slaves and their owners.
The historical impact it had was that it boosted the North's sense of morality against slavery and was a substantial key to the Civil War; also, it influenced Northerners to take further action into abolishing slavery.
